In Search of Harmony

Harmony – aren’t we all striving for it? Far away from civilization, in some wild, isolated corner, we have a sudden acute sense of how harmoniously this world is created and how it can imbue us with its mysterious, primordial energy. Unfortunately, many of us, in all our lives, are only lucky enough to see but a tiny bit out of those remarkable places, and for the briefest moment. Then we have only scraps of fleeting sensations to rely on, preserved in our memories.

About

Passion for travel across countries and continents in Daniel Yakovlev has long been coupled with a love for photography. Nuclear physicist by training, a businessman and a very busy man, he has studied our planet for many years, using the camera as the main instrument of research.
Daniel Yakovlev's choice of country is always unique. The favorite continent for Travel is Africa. For the last four years his author's collection has been enriched with bright images of South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Tanzania and Mozambique. No less attractive and interesting for Yakovlev and his research are South America, Asia, the Caribbean islands and French Polynesia.
Of all photographic subjects Daniel Yakovlev prefers landscape, portrait sketches, exotic ethnography (Maasai, Maya, Papua). He can spend hours watching through the viewfinder for the behavior and habits of animals, be invisible on ethnic celebrations and ceremonies, shoot sunrises and sunsets in the most inaccessible and beautiful places of the world.
